Company's Timeline

  • 2016
    Express Clearing & Forwarding, both Dubai and Abu Dhabi, as well as its sister companies, grew to have around 160 employees and a total of 60 trailers in various sizes and lengths. It is now a combined logistics power that can exceed the largest of world’s multinational freight forwarders with emerging markets covered worldwide.
  • 2016
    Express Clearing & Forwarding Co. joined the Cooperative Logistics Network to expand its connection with overseas agents. It consists of 256 agent in 106 countries around the world.
  • 2015
    The company enlarged its transportation services to reach the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, in addition to the UAE. (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates).
  • 2013
    Express Global General Transport (EGGT) was established, and both EGGT & ENGT operated alongside each other to strengthen the transportation process. Trailers have doubled and are well equipped to transport project pipes in the UAE region.
  • 2012
    Express Chartering Company was founded in Dubai, initially to serve the growing market demand for professionals with expertise in handling and moving over-sized Cargoes.
  • 2011
    The first business subsidiary; Express National General Transport (ENGT) was founded and had at the time only eight 12-Meter Trailers for transportation. The aim was to create a transport division where the company can supply their clients with their own fleet.
  • 2008
    Express Clearing & Forwarding Co. was awarded the “Best Freight Forwarder in the Middle East” from the WCA.
  • 2006
    Express Clearing & Forwarding Co. joined the largest and most powerful network of independent freight forwarders, with over 6,344 member offices in 190 countries around the world, the World Cargo Alliance (WCA).
  • 2006
    Mr. Sufian Al Sakran and Mr. Jamal Al Sakran have both joined an official partnership.
  • 2005
    Express Packing & Removals was established to target Personal effects market, corporate companies, and International movement, which partakes relocation of personnel. This division gave Express an edge over others in providing direct services rather than relying on third party service providers.
  • 2004
    A new branch was opened in Dubai to serve more of potential customers. Express Clearing & Forwarding Co. did not stop at being a clearing agent and freight forwarder, in fact the strategy was to establish more companies to form a complete services group that will support the mother organization.
  • 1998
    The company’s name was modified to become “Express Clearing & Forwarding Co.”. From that period of time and on, the organization services started expanding and knowing no limits. The company handled projects to different parts of the world, starting with the UAE. They also started forming a long business relationship with its customers locally, nationally and internationally.
  • 1989
    The founder’s younger brother, Mr. Jamal Al Sakran joined the company. Together, the brothers set foot to strategically expand into developing an enviable local and global reputation in freight services and contract logistics.
  • 1977
    Mr. Sufian Al Sakran along with a local partner, founded Express Clearing & Forwarding Co. under the name “Express Clearing Company”. The company was a customs clearance service provider with four employees and headquarters in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
